This recipe is delicious. As with all copycat recipes, it’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close. I think that it would be interesting to try to use real tomatoes instead of tomato paste (all I seem to ever have is tomato paste) and see if it gets closer. Until then, this bread is will definitely satisfy your cravings for Panera or Paradise Bakery.
There are many breads that require starters like the biga for ciabatta. Sourdough is probably the most well known. In my searchings about biga, I found that a biga is used to make the bread chewier and add some flavor as well.
Some failures, I post about here (like how I failed and then succeed at making my own pasta). Other failures make me sad and so I just pretend they never happened and don’t post about them. I failed at making naan (twice) and never posted here about it because it was just so sad.
I have a confession for you. I’ve never actually had an empanada. It seems like something I’d love, right? Delicious goodies baked in a pocket of love and bread. It’s right up my alley! Somehow, I just never had one.
This week has been rough. I got summoned for jury duty and then selected, I had a midterm exam for one of my classes, I got behind on blogging, and I had a few things happen in my personal life that added some stress. Sometimes life is rough. But on this Saturday morning, I’m feeling better.
This post is part 2 in a series leading up to the greatest stuffed pita of all time. The first recipe was piquillo pepper hummus and the last is stuffed pita. This hummus is amazingly and so simple. If you have time to make these, you have time to make the hummus. You really need to try it.
Wow, things have been busy here. I’ve been working full time, I had two tests since I last posted, and I visited my sister in Atlanta. Whew. Luckily, it’s the weekend and I’ve FINALLY had time to make something worthy of posting. Pretzels! Since I’ve been so bad about posting, I also included a recipe for beer cheese dip to use with these delicious honey wheat bagels.
I love pizza. I think that pretty much everyone loves pizza. The major problem with pizza is that it’s too delicious and has about a zillion calories. I tried to create a pizza dough that you can use with any toppings that’s healthier than a frozen pizza or take out but just as yummy.
