For many people traveling is an integral part of life. Visiting new places we discover many new things as well as we discover many new things in ourselves. And of course, your journey cannot be complete if you do not talk with the local people. I suppose you probably know what you need to start … Continue reading “Alcohol Preferences Around the World”
Since I blog about food, I tend to check out other food blogs too. Smart, right? Check out the competition. Just kidding. It’s more like learn from people that are better at cooking, or photography, or both and get some good recipe ideas along the way. As the holidays approach, I’ve noticed more and more posts about homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream.
Oh…hello there! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I wish I had some really cool excuse like getting recruited for a super secret spy agency and I was out of the country being awesome and doing cool things. But I wasn’t. Let me give you a short update on what I’ve been up to. I got a new job last year, I’ve run 2 half marathons (and got kinda into running, unexpectedly. Any other runners out there?), I got a puppy, and I moved.
I went to college in Washington. It is always wet there. It’s a misconception that it’s always raining there. It doesn’t always rain, it’s just always wet and usually drizzling. When I have a break between classes, and it’s wet, and I have to study, I just want a hot drink. The coffee shop closest to my classes was a beautiful glass building where it was always warm and you could watch the rain drip down the sides. It was the best place to study, chat, get coffee, or enjoy the weather. I discovered the drink I’m about to introduce when the person in front of me ordered it, and I decided to try it. It’s called a duke of earl. Traditionally, it’s made with steamed milk, earl gray tea, and vanilla flavoring.
The most popular post on this blog is Skittles Vodka Party Favors. It turns out that everyone really likes brightly colored DIY flavored vodkas. Many of the comments I’ve received are about variations. Different liquors, different sizes, or different candies. People are so creative! I’d never thought of half of the things that people have suggested.
I made a delicious drink today. I was going to post about it tomorrow, but I think everyone will be hung over and not want to hear about an alcoholic drink. I think that’s how I’m going to feel at least. Right now though, I feel good and I’m looking for a delicious New Year’s Eve Drink.
I just graduated from college this spring. Being a recent college grad, I have a lot of drink recipes that I made up using only the supplies on hand. My boyfriend really likes whiskey so I have tried to make a couple of drinks using this alcohol instead of my usual favorites of vodka, tequila, and rum.
