My family was in town last week. It’s always great to see them and spend some time with family where I can go back and sleep in my own bed. Plus they buy me dinner lots and I like that too.
At the end of their trip, they gifted me all the snacks and food they bought but didn’t use. This included a lot of Oreos. My dad loves Oreos, but I try not to keep sweets around because I will eat them all immediately. To prevent from gaining twenty pounds, I decided to make a treat for my coworkers: Oreo fudge with an Oreo crust.
My mom makes the best fudge so I wen to her for the recipe. I’m here to share that recipe with you (it’s also the one that’s on the side of the Marshmallow Fluff at the supermarket, but I altered it slightly). I’ve also added an Oreo crust because I had a LOT of Oreos.
Deliciously sweet Oreo fudge with an Oreo crust. Perfect treat for all ages (and ready in 5 minutes)!
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, divided
1 small can evaporated milk (5 oz)
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 7 oz jar marshmallow fluff
1 package of Oreos (about 36ish)
Melt 1/4 cup of butter in the microwave. Pound about 15 Oreos to a fine dust (this can be done in a food processor or by hand). Mix the butter and powdered Oreos together. Pat down into a 9x9 square dish. Let cool.
In a small saucepan combine the sugar, 3/4 cup butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil (lots of big bubbles) and boil for 4 minutes. Start timing once you see the big bubbles. If you don't boil for long enough, the fudge will not harden.
Combine the chocolate chips and marshmallow fluff with the sugar/butter mixture. Crumble up the rest of the Oreos (leaving them in big chunks is fine) and mix in. Pour into the pan with the Oreo crust. Allow to cool at room temperature overnight.
Share with others or save for yourself. Just be sure that every last is eaten because this stuff is good. Enjoy!
