Butternut Squash Cranberry Quinoa Fall Dish

The story behind this combination of flavors to create butternut squash cranberry quinoa shows just why I love being a food blogger.
I love to read about food.  Going over a recipe and seeing all the variety of ingredients and studying how they combined them.

Egg Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

I learned something new today.  There are sweet potatoes that are not orange.  I was making this recipe, I cut off the tops of the sweet potatoes, and….they were white.  I was mad at myself because I thought I accidentally got russet potatoes instead of sweet potatoes.  I sampled them and they tasted like sweet potatoes.

Tomato Gorgonzola Soup

Until recently, I didn’t really like soup.  Something about drinking food with chunks in it seemed really weird to me.  That was until I went to this small soup shop in Tacoma, Washington called Infinite Soups.  I had a tomato gorgonzola soup, and it was amazing.

Miso Soup

As you may have guessed, I’m REALLY picky.  I pretty much assume anything I don’t like must be gross.  Typically, I’m wrong.  The most egregious error I’ve made due to my pickiness was assuming that all soups were gross.

Usually I’m not a huge fan of what he orders, but most things are not as bad as I remember them being.

Green Smoothies and my first GIVEAWAY

When Hilary Greenleaf sent me an email asking if I wanted to talk about green smoothies and her new book “The Green Smoothie Diet,” my first thought was “No way, smoothies with spinach are definitely no good.”  For some reason, I decided to reply and say, “Let me check out your book first.”

Chinese Steamed Buns

I first tried Shinese steamed buns when a vegan friend prepared an elaborate dinner for a little party.  They were delicious.  Whenever I try to find Chinese steamed buns like her’s, they ALWAYS have pork in them.  That’s when I took matters into my own hands.

Holiday Spiked Coffee

Since I blog about food, I tend to check out other food blogs too.  Smart, right?  Check out the competition.  Just kidding.  It’s more like learn from people that are better at cooking, or photography, or both and get some good recipe ideas along the way.  As the holidays approach, I’ve noticed more and more posts about homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream.
