Perfect Party Nachos | hollyshelpings.comI love nachos, but I hate when they get soggy.  It’s like all the delicious toppings become too much for the chip and it ends up just being kinda gross.  I also never understood why people think that nachos make such great appetizers.  Sure, the chips can all be separated, but what about the big glob of guacamole in the middle?  And who gets the really awesome chip with extra cheese while everyone else has to eat chips at the bottom that don’t have anything on them?

Perfect Party Nachos | hollyshelpings.comI’ve solved two problems at once with these party nachos.  I researched how to avoid soggy chips (for real my google history has “how to avoid soggy nachos” in it) and I’ve managed to evenly distribute all the awesome toppings.  Are you ready for this insanity?  I present…The Perfect Party Nachos.

Perfect Party Nachos | hollyshelpings.comHere are my tips for perfect party nachos:

  1. Try to find the bag with the least broken chips.
  2. Place rinsed black beans at the bottom of the chip so the cheese doesn’t touch the chip too much.
  3. Do a double layer of cheese.  Everyone loves a lot of cheese and this prevents the salsa and guacamole from making the chip soggy
  4. Keep your oven hot so the cheese melts quickly and the chips stay crisp.

Enjoy!

These look fantastic! I’ve never seen scoop chips before…I guess they haven’t made it to the UK yet. (I thought you were going to show us some fantastic way to make ‘em, with a mini muffin tin of something : )

You can totally do that, actually. I’ve done that before. Brush some oil over a tortilla and place it in a muffin tin (or any proper sized oven safe bowl) and put some tin foil in the center and bake it until they’re crispy.

It actually wasn’t too bad. I was meeting with some friends and had to leave at 6:15 and I got home at 5:30. I managed to make the guacamole and these nachos, take pictures of them both, and actually eat them too. :)

I love the Scoop tortilla chips and I always look for a bag that has the least broken chips because it is not easy to make the nachos if they are all broken. I love this recipe because it is so easy and now my Nachos will not have soggy chips!

Yeah, it’s always disappointing to have a bunch of broken chips.
